Like all London places it's a great open green area that unless you take the trouble to explore you can easily overlook. Once you're inside it, it's a great escape from the usual London mayhem.

Its like an oasis, you forget that you're only 5 miles from the centre of London. All that hustle and bustle going on but here its nice and calm.
Man 3
Its kind of the centre of lots of different areas: Anerley, Crystal Palace, Gypsy Hill. I think it brings people together.
Woman 1
It’s our local green space. We live in a block of flats, we don't have a garden, so this I suppose is our local garden.
Woman 2
I think I just like the fact that there’s lots of space up here, and that you don’t necessarily know what’s around every corner, that there's always some part that’s a little bit undiscovered - that’s what I really like about it.

If you've got kids you just want a bit of open space for the kids to be able to run around in. The nice thing about this is that there's other interesting things around that the kids can do, that a lot of other parks don't have.

I think it's a wonderful bit of green space in south-east London and also its got great history attached to it and if it wasn’t here, much of this part of south-east London wouldn't be here because it attracted a lot of people to the area when it opened all those years ago.

I suppose also the history - a bit of it’s lost now I think but when you come across statues, like Joseph Paxton's head and you can see the Sphinx up there, which you're not gonna find anywhere else in south-east London, it’s just quite interesting.

It's a good sized park, it's lovely and green, its got places where you can just sit and watch the world go by, it's not too busy, which is a good thing.

I like the fact that it’s landscaped, it's hilly, this bit here, the sort of natural bowl, some great trees.

It’s the beauty of the place, and the other thing is clean air.

It’s just an amazing landmark park really for London.
