The farm’s gone

Boy

The boats have gone.

Woman 1

The boats have gone. That little train track they used to have, that wasn’t there for long. The adventure playground.

Woman 2 (Crystal Palace Park employee)

I’ve worked here for eighteen years now; I started out in the zoo. We used to have what we called Monkey Island and you used to have to row the boat out there each day to feed the monkeys. They were quite nice because they used to come and sit on your shoulder and you could feed them. That’s one of my good memories.

Woman 3

The farm is an area I remember quite well from coming quite regularly. Then there were the flamingos as you came down that path, down the hill. All that area has basically just gone, which is quite important really for the local community.
